WHY JOIN US AS A SALES REPRESENTATIVE INTERN/JUNIOR

We are looking for a motivated and ambitious Sales Representative Intern/Junior to join our team at Maloba Consulting. The ideal candidate will play a key role in driving growth by identifying and engaging potential clients for our accelerator program. WHAT YOU WILL DO

Responsibilities:

 

Lead Generation:

  • Identify and reach out to tech startups in Cape Town and other African markets that could benefit from the accelerator program.

  • Use various tools (e.g., LinkedIn, startup databases, events) to build and maintain a pipeline of potential leads.

Cold Outreach:

  • Conduct cold calls, emails, and social media outreach to potential startup founders.

  • Effectively communicate the value proposition of the accelerator program to attract interest.

Relationship Building:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with founders, providing them with information about our accelerator program and guiding them through the application process.

  • Act as a point of contact for founders during the application stage.

Sales Support:

  • Assist senior sales team members in closing deals and onboarding startups.

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to execute campaigns that drive awareness and interest in the accelerator program.

Reporting & Feedback:

  • Provide feedback to the sales and marketing teams on outreach campaigns and customer insights.

  • Track and report sales metrics, including leads contacted, meetings booked, and startups onboarded.

Event Participation:

  • Attend startup and tech-related events, both virtually and in-person, to promote the accelerator and network with potential leads.

Requirements:

  • Education:

    • Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of a degree program (Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field is preferred).

  • Experience:

    • Some prior experience in sales, marketing, or customer-facing roles (internships, part-time jobs, or freelance work) is a plus.

  • Skills:

    • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).

    • Ability to engage with startup founders and entrepreneurs with confidence and enthusiasm.

    • Comfortable with cold outreach, including calls, emails, and social media engagement.

    • Basic knowledge of CRM software and tools (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce) is a plus.

    • Familiarity with the startup ecosystem in Cape Town or Africa is an added advantage.

  • Personal Attributes:

    • Eagerness to learn and grow in a sales role.

    • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and take initiative.

    • Goal-oriented and persistent, with a strong sense of accountability.

    • Passion for startups, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
